Bio

Danny has been exploring the potential of painting as an expressive medium for over fifteen years, both personally and professionally. As a painter, he specializes in finely detailed interiors with crisp lines and pristine surfaces; his artwork shares a sense of precision and smooth, confident application of paint. Heavily influenced by the culture of comic-book illustration and pop art, he began to draw his own strips while studying Graphic Design in high school. After graduating to University, his artistic vision translated into large-scale, vividly colored pieces of graffiti art.  Today, he is capable of bringing a client’s ambition from abstract concept to concrete reality, incorporating their personality and taste into a unique aesthetic that combines abstract text and realistic rendering. Danny took up the trade of professional interior painting while attending UMass Boston, where he was transfixed by the mural art of greater Boston as he rode the MBTA trains from his hometown of Gloucester to the JFK/UMass stop on the Red line.

Danny continued to develop his aesthetic and his brush control while working on some of the North Shore’s finest homes under the direction of the gentlemen at Articulate Painting and Ms. Katherine Richmond of KR Painting. Meanwhile, he found his favorite medium in the versatility of the spray-can and began creating murals under the guiding influence of the late Jed Richardson of Manhattan. He has travelled across the country to produce his artworks, which adorn the walls of homes and businesses in Santa Cruz, CA, Baltimore, MD, Vinalhaven, ME, Atlanta, GA, Tallahassee, FL, and Lexington, KY. His murals appear in private residences and commercial spaces across the North Shore of Massachusetts, interior and exterior, enhancing the walls of Insurance Agents, Promoters, Therapists, Real Estate Agents, Medical Professionals, Bars, Restaurants, Galleries, and fellow Artists. Danny has appeared in several Art Shows at “The Annie” in downtown Gloucester and has donated his talent to the Gloucester Public School’s Theatre Department. His work has appeared in the Boston Globe and in the nationally-recognized online-publication Eater. The most recent exhibition of his paintings was shown at the Greenhouse Studio, Santa Cruz, CA in April of 2016. His two most recent murals can be found at Kokeshi Restaurant in Salem, MA. 2017.

Danny brings his artistic sensibilities and mastership of the medium to his house-painting, known for flawless brushwork and spray work on French doors, sashed windows, vaulted ceilings, and ornate trim work. He is knowledgeable concerning the chemistry of the paint he uses and can advise a homeowner on the best possible products available for their project (including paints and stains from as close as Massachusetts and New Jersey and as far away as Germany, Spain and Australia). His close attention to proper preparatory work ensures that his clients will enjoy a beautiful property for many years after the job is complete. His remarkable mural style can transform stagnant structures and spaces into inhabitable works of art. He paints with a sense of urgency, putting his entire body on the line to produce a precise stroke of the can or brush.
